One therapy in Northwest Arkansas is trying to offer an alternative option that some patients say can bring back their vision.

Julie came to my clinic in 2003 for the first time.  She was sixteen years old and suffering from Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), a group of genetic eye disease that cause degeneration of the photoreceptor cells in the retina, which is the area in the eye that contains light sensitive cells called rods and cones.  The optic nerve senses images and sends them to the visual cortex in the brain.
